The primary objective of maintaining air preparation units is to ensure that the pneumatic system is supplied with clean, dry compressed air; to maintain the system's airtightness; to ensure that components requiring lubrication receive an adequate supply of oil mist; and to guarantee that all pneumatic components and the system as a whole operate under specified conditions (such as required operating pressure and voltage). This ensures that pneumatic actuators perform according to their intended requirements.
1. It is advisable to select an air lubricator (oil mist lubricator) with a capacity that requires refilling only once a week. When refilling, monitor the rate of oil consumption. If the consumption is too low, readjust the drip rate. If the drip rate remains low or stops entirely after adjustment, check whether the lubricator's inlet and outlet ports are reversed, inspect the oil passages for blockages, and verify that the chosen lubricator model is appropriate for the application.
2. Monthly and quarterly maintenance should be more thorough than daily or weekly routines, though it remains limited to inspections that can be performed externally. Key tasks include: carefully checking for leaks; tightening loose screws and pipe fittings; inspecting the quality of air exhausted from directional control valves; verifying the smooth operation of adjustment mechanisms; checking the accuracy of gauges and indicators; ensuring the reliable switching of solenoid valves; examining the condition of cylinder piston rods; and performing any other checks possible from the exterior.
3. Maintenance tasks are categorized into routine (ongoing) maintenance-performed daily-and periodic maintenance, which may be scheduled on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis. All maintenance activities should be documented to facilitate future troubleshooting and repairs.
4. To detect air leaks, apply a soap solution (or similar substance) to potential leak points; this method is significantly more sensitive and effective than relying on sound alone.
